A new way to communicate

This blog is set up to trial the application of new web technologies to sharing information. Curriculum Materials Information Service (CMIS)  is a project within the Syllabus Development and Resources Directorate in the Department of Education and Training, Western Australia. The Evaluation section identifies curriculum materials that support school curriculum applications and coordinates the evaluation of those resources.

All forms of resources are reviewed for teachers and students: print; non-print; audio visual; videocassettes; DVDs; computer software and Internet sites. Resources are reviewed and evaluated through a network of teachers, Curriculum Officers and other professionals working in education.

Full details of the resources reviewed by CMIS are contained in the CMIS Reviewing Program [PDF]

The information is disseminated to District Offices and schools through a number of print publications, the CMIS website and the CMIS Resource Bank.

Print publications are distributed free of charge to all Western Australian public schools. Publications available for purchase or on subscription may be ordered direct from CMIS.
