Blogging @ Swan View
Think Before you Post…Continued
This morning I asked my English class to create their own blogs. About 6 students managed to complete the whole process – from creating an account and user name, then a blog, choosing a template and creating their first post. If you were one of the people who managed to do this – Congratulations – if I could give you an A+ grade I would
You obviously know your way around this new paradigm (ask me about the BIG words).
Now a gentle reminder about what you can and should post for everyone to see. This is something my son (who is now 25) posted to a web forum when he was 17. While it is not something that would embarrass him it is a reminder that a simple post can have a VERY long life. Be very critical of what you choose to post!

Monday 28th May 2007 – Think Before You Post.
This video is a reminder that all that you post is visible to everyone.

This page will act as an informal record of my explorations using blogging as an educational tool at Swan View Senior High School in Perth, Western Australia. I hope to involve my Year 11 English class and will start by getting them all to create an igoogle page where they can subscribe to the rss feed for this blog. Then I will ask each student to author a post about what has been happening in the class (and the school). It will be interesting to see what events and details they choose to record, and the style of language they use for the universal audience. If time permits I will set a task for them to investigate and report on the educational uses of blogging (and other new web technologies)
